Jim Collins, in Good to Great, states that hedgehogs focus on one big idea or principle that unifies and guides everything. Focusing solely on what you can potentially do better than anyone else (individually or organizationally) is the path to greatness.
Find the intersection of the three circles. That’s your hedgehog, the place where you put your BHAG (big hairy audacious goal).
