Self-Leadership

Before you can lead others well, allow God to lead you well. Notice how David responded to a difficult time in his leadership journey.

Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1Sam 30:6

Most of you won’t have your team members threatening to stone you; however, there may be times when they are abundantly clear that they are not pleased with you. How do you handle that?

  • Do you get autocratic and hostile reminding them who is the boss?
  • Do you get analytical, taking into account what is causing their distress as you try to find a way out of the unpleasant circumstance?
  • Do you turn to God and lean on His strength and guidance for what to do?
