Personal discipline is beyond doing the mandatory and avoiding the prohibited.
Personal discipline involves self-denial (1Cor 10:23).
It is making choices that strengthen you as a leader.
Though Paul was gifted, he did not rest on those abilities (1Cor 15:10).
In fact, he was almost obsessive about being disciplined (1Cor 9:24-27).
He was more concerned about his own failure to remain disciplined than he was about other people attacking him.
