Daniel demonstrated complete dependence on the Lord and set an example for all of us. When Darius the Mede took over the Babylonian kingdom, his leaders looked for a way to get rid of Daniel, Dan 6:5-9.
They knew the only way to find fault with Daniel was to find something against the laws of God.
They appealed to the king’s pride by recommending that no person should worship anyone other than Darius. The punishment would be to be cast the person into the lions’ den.
When Daniel was threatened for his faithfulness to God, he responded with growing intensity in his dependence on the Lord, Pro 3:5-6.
Daniel spent even more time in prayer to God, Dan 6:10.
God rewarded Daniel’s faithfulness, allowing him to survive the lions’ den. Daniel rejoiced, giving glory to the Lord who kept him safe, Dan 6:22.
