Mirror, Mirror

What is the purpose of a mirror?

With a mirror, you can see yourself and based on what you see, you can take actions to make yourself as clean and presentable as possible.

Through the Holy Spirit, the Word of God is your spiritual mirror, Jas 1:23-25. Here are some tips for using your mirror most effectively.

  1. Look into it with intention. A mere glance won’t reveal your deepest needs.
  2. Take it seriously. When God’s Word confronts you, react as Isaiah did, “Woe is me! for I am undone!” Isa 6:5.
  3. Take action to address what God’s Word brings to your attention. Don’t just see and walk on by. The blessing is in the being and doing.

Are you looking into your mirror with intention, taking what you see seriously, and taking action to address the issues it reveals?

You know, mirrors don’t show an accurate image of us…it is not how others see us at all…everything is in reverse…just another reason that we can’t always go by what we see.

Me too. I’m a mess unless I look into that mirror regularly.
