The last time I read 2Cor 12:7-10, it reminded me of a time when I asked a group of Elementary students to try their hand at writing some brief stories (real or imaginary).

One boy wrote that he woke up one morning to see a strange man in his bedroom. The man told him not to be afraid, that he had come to give him 3 wishes. All the boy had to do was say, “I wish” and his wish would come true.

The boy was excited thinking about what great things he could get. He got dressed and went for a walk. As his mind wandered, a recent happy tune he had heard popped into his head. Without thinking, he sang out loud, “I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener.” Instantly, he turned into a hot dog.

Do you thank God for saying “no” to requests that He knows are not good for you whether you realize it or not?

Oh my! Fortunately, no… I try not to ask for things that aren’t good for me. Cute story, though.
