As you’ve likely experienced, getting people to take a risk is a challenge. When Cyrus issue a decree allowing the Jews to return to their homeland, only a small percentage returned, (Ezra 1-3). Why?

  • Most of them were unwilling to sacrifice the relative comfort of their current life. The tough work of rebuilding was unappealing.
  • For those who agreed to make the sacrifice, the example of their leaders helped them take the risk.

When you have a clear message from God about your team taking a risk, does your example of courage and willing sacrifice help them take the risk?

I try always to be an example of the direction God is asking me to take. It may not be the same risk He has for you.

So true. It’s fascinating how He has a custom plan for each of us.
