If you have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, the Spirit of God dwells in you, Rom 8:9-10

The question then becomes, “How does the Holy Spirit speak to you?” Rom 8:14-16. Consider the following:

  • Bible: As you read the Bible, the Holy Spirit uses a verse or word to grab your mind and heart.
  • Promptings: The Holy Spirit will put an idea in your mind (note: if the idea is from Him, it will always align with God’s Word). When you resist the Holy Spirit, pressure will build until you surrender. Upon surrender, you will have a sense of peace.
  • Other Christians: Sometimes another Christian will make a side comment that grabs your attention. They likely don’t realize it, but the Holy Spirit uses it for your benefit.
  • Prayer: Take time to be alone with God, praising Him, sharing your heart, and listening.

Does the Holy Spirit speak to you through the Bible, His promptings, other Christians, and prayer?

Yes, the Holy Spirit does speak to me! And I’m so grateful for all the ways that he does speak to me. Great post!

Yes. It began with just the Bible, but over the years, God put the other 3 ways in place for me.
